Michael Colton and John Aboud write for film and television. They can be seen as panelists every week on VH1's Best Week Ever and I Love the [insert decade]. From 2000 through 2003, they ran Modern Humorist, a comedy collective that produced content for the Web, books, magazines, radio, stage, and screen.

"The Comebacks" on DVD

See Our (names on a) Movie in the Comfort of Your Home!
A few years ago, we wrote a sports spoof movie called "The Comebacks." It was later rewritten by approximately eighty-seven other dudes, but it got made and released in 2007. Now you can buy or rent it! If you wait until the credits, you'll even see our names for a few seconds. "The Comebacks" stars David Koechner ("Anchorman"), Melora Hardin ("The Office") and Carl Weathers (every good movie ever made). Enjoy!

DVDorkiness

Available Now: "Melrose Place" the Third Season on DVD. The set includes our feature, "Everything You Need to Know About Melrose Place." Amazon calls it an "affectionate skewering," but we prefer this review: "...a recap of the show told by two people who seem to have as low of an opinion of the show as I do."

Tales from the Writers Guild Strike

Dangle, Aboud, Travis Jr.
As proud members of the Writers Guild of America, we tried to do our part during the strike of '07-'08.
• We launched a parody of the AMPTP web site. Coverage: Nikki Finke, LA Times, Variety, Nikki Finke part II.
• John blogged for UnitedHollywood.com and is now an occasional contributor to the new incarnation.
• Mike wrote an op-ed for the Boston Globe.

Thanks for Helping Us Cheat!

A big thanks to everyone who helped us raise money during 826LA's Mini Golf for Cheaters Tournament in August 2007. Our total was $3,893.00! Photos of our low-down, unscrupulous mini golf adventure can be seen here. We love what 826LA does to help kids improve their creative writing skills. If you live in the LA area, and you are not illiterate, consider getting involved.

Our 90210 DVD Feature

Colton & Aboud guide you through "Everything You Need to Know About 90210 Season 2" on disc 8 of the new DVD set. On sale now!
Zap2it.com says the featurette is "a winner." 411mania.com says, "This is perhaps the greatest DVD feature of all time." DVDtalk.com says, "The opening sequence alone, a mock-up of the show's opening sequence with Aboud and Colton in costume, is a great reason to watch it." SitcomsOnline.com calls it "very weird."

Best Article Ever?

We wrote a piece about our VH1 work for a magazine devoted to Harvard alumni and their impossibly glamorous lifestyles. If that concept doesn't make you gag, feel free to click here.
